Chino

Chino is a city of about 78,000 people, tucked away in a western corner pocket of San Bernardino County. It’s an ideal spot for anyone who likes their suburban experience to come with a little more rustic flavor.

For some families, though, the appeal might also have to do with the fact that Chino provides a more affordable living experience than they’ll find in the nearby cities of Diamond Bar and Chino Hills (to the west and south, respectively).

That said, the city’s estimated median income of families is still a respectable $69,000, according to a survey conducted in 2009. That same survey also showed that the median cost of Chino homes was about $335,000—only $50,000 below the state average at the same time.

Once an area specializing in orchards and dairies, Chino was a popular stopover spot for miner on their way to the goldmines in Northern California in the 19th century.

Today, downtown Chino is the home to a variety of cultural and educational organizations, including branches of the San Bernardino County Library and Chaffey Community College as well as the Chino boxing Club and Chino Community Theatre. The Chino Airport offers not only an easy departure point for travelers, but also two air museums as well: Planes of Fame and the Yanks Air Museum.

Much of Chino’s suburban identity dates to the 1970s, when the city underwent a great deal of development -- although today you can still find industrial and farm areas. Top employers include the Chino Valley Unified School District as well as the California Insitution for Men, which is one of three state prisons located in the city limits: the other two are the California Institution for Women and the Heman G. Stark Youth Correctional Facility.

The city has also been recognized several times as one of the “100 Best Communities for Youth” and holds an Olympic honor for hosting several shooting events during the 1984 Summer Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Those events took place in nearby Prado Regional Park.  Below, please find the latest available Chino homes for sale.  Chino Ca 91708 homes for sale.  Chino Ca 91710 homes for sale.
